WBBL hub in Tasmania

- RUSSELL GOULD

CRICKET Australia is forging ahead with plans to play the full WBBL season after moving the first 20 games to Tasmania.

Players from Victoria, NSW and the ACT will head to Hobart next week to complete two weeks of quarantine after the start of the season had to be moved from Sydney due to the Covid outbreak.

Members of the Australian team, which begins a series against India in Queensland next week, will head straight to Tasmania after the final T20 match on the Gold Coast on October 10, days before the WBBL opener on October 14.

Players won’t play out of a bubble, with relative freedom of movement allowed once those who need to complete quarantine have done so.
