COMETTI TO QUIT
LEGENDARY football commentator Dennis Cometti is set to hang up the microphone for good.
Cometti, renowned for his classic analogies and witty humour, retired from commentating on television at the end of 2016 after calling more than 1000 games.
Since continuing his career on radio, the 72-year old revealed on Triple M that this weekend’s grand final between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs will officially be his last ever call.
“This is it,” Cometti said on Monday. “It’s finished … there’s no turning back.”
