School locks in new logo
THE new logo for the Hobart City High School has been revealed, with a Southern Cross-inspired design chosen to represent the school.
The logo was designed to go with the new school, brought about by a merger next year of Ogilvie and New Town High schools.
The logo, pictured, was chosen out of three options which were created based on consultation with students, staff, school associations and members of the community.
The chosen logo has been described as a “symbol for ideas and diversity”. “From what we heard through our consultation, there is a strong desire for this school to be a ‘lighthouse school’, a guiding light and the best example of education in the state,” New Town High School posted on Facebook.
“Our new logo design is based on the pattern that the Southern Cross makes as it moves around the southern sky throughout the year.”
