EVOLVE’S WIN RAISES THE BAR

A HOBART bar has won two awards in the annual Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards, taking out hotel bar of the year for Australia and cocktail bar of the year for Tasmania.

Evolve Spirits Bar at MACq 01 was chosen out of 11 nominees for hotel bar of the year, including fellow Tasmanians IXL Long Bar at the Henry Jones Art Hotel.

Bar manager Bec Goodman said the awards would boost the brand of the bar.

“These awards puts our bar on the map,” Ms Goodman said.

She believed it was a combination of things that helped the win.

“The products we make, the care the team goes in using products, the amazing spirits we get to work with, it’s a good little package,” Ms Goodman said

Rude Boy in Hobart was crowned Tasmania’s best bar.
