Poking the bear is a bad idea

-

EVERYONE entitled their own opinion.

However, I have to protest at the assertions of my namesake from Dodges Ferry who stated that climate change is our country’s biggest enemy (Mercury, Sep 21).

With all due respect, if China ever chose to exert its military might upon Australia in coming years, there won’t be a snowflake’s chance in Hades of climate change being a debated issue in our beloved land ever again.

Heaven help us if that day should ever come, and likewise if the reins of power are taken again by the long proven hapless, left-leaning, Labor opposition, currently led by Anthony Albanese.

Mr Morrison might not be perfect, but his party’s security alliance with America and other allies is pivotal to maintaining the world-class freedoms we have all enjoyed for eight decades now.

Never forget that wise and appropriate old adage of years gone by: “a Smith and Wesson beats four aces!” Subtle as a sledgehammer, but true!

Don’t poke the bear, be it panda, polar, grizzly or teddy and the climate will take care of itself!
