We must work together to fight Covid

-

FOR Danny Bell (Letters, September 24) to assert that mandating health care worker’s jabs is communism is quite frankly a ridiculous and unfounded comment.

Mr Bell, if you have travelled overseas you will know that to enter countries in many areas you have to be vaccinated against many diseases to obtain such entry.

How is requiring health care workers to use the only defence we have against Covid-19 communism? Really!

This virus looks like it will be here for some time and to live with it requires sacrifice and fortitude as well as the willingness to be part of at least a 90 per cent vaccination rate.

We will also have to have booster vaccinations like we do now for many diseases including the flu.

To say that most people he spoke to agreed with his ideas I find extremely hard to believe.

Most sensible people agree with the necessity to vaccinate but Mr Bell sounds like he is operating out of the Clive Palmer handbook. Let’s not listen to this sort of scaremongering but work together to at least give us a chance of some normality by respecting other peoples’ lives as well as our own.
