TRIBUTES FLOW FOR ‘BUBBLY, CHEEKY’ SKYLAH-LEE, 4

- KENJI SATO

THE community is grieving for fouryear-old Skylah-Lee, who was killed after running into the path of an oncoming car last week.

Friend of the family Natima Abblitt started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay for Skylah-Lee’s funeral costs, saying it was the least she could do.

Mrs Abblitt lost her own son at six weeks of age, and says she can empathise with how painful it is for a young, working family to arrange a funeral.

As Skylah-Lee’s “aunty”, Mrs Abblitt said she would always remember Skylah-Lee as a bubbly girl with an infectious smile.

“Skylah was a very outgoing little girl. Every time I’ve seen her she would always have a smile on her face or was being cheeky just like every four-year-old is,” Mrs Abblitt said.

“When I did get to see her, no matter what, she always had lots of love to give to everyone and had the most amazing laugh and hugs.”

Skylah-Lee was hit by a car on September 21 and was rushed to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where she was placed on life support.

However, despite the efforts of surgeons, Skylah-Lee died two days later on September 23.

?? ?? Skylah-Lee will be remembered as a happy, energetic young girl. She died two days after being struck by a car.
