PRAISE FOR MARINER

THANKS for publishing the whale pictures taken on SV Rhona H yesterday by senior crew Stuart Gifford. It was a special afternoon and one that will be cherished by many. We have been asked about the boat in the photo. Was he too close and why does he look to be in the exclusion zone? The mariner was doing the right thing, followed all rules and was respectful of the whale, who chose to come inside the zone to show off her calf. The mariner deserves to be applauded for his respect. The zoom lens distorted the proximity but captured a very special moment for all.
