SHAMEFUL BEHAVIOUR
IT is a shameful thing for a sovereign nation to fail to honour a solemn obligation freely entered into with another sovereign nation merely because it later seems to be inconvenient.
We are all responsible for this shabby act, as we elected the government which performed it.
While it was obvious to everyone except the government that the original decision was plainly flawed, and is now seen to be that, there was ample time for consideration before it was made and there is still no excuse to ignore the fact that Australia entered into a solemn and legally binding agreement which it has now dishonoured.
