RISKY DIVERSION

-

IN the face of growing Covid cases and deaths in our two most populous states, struggling health services nationwide and the horrendous promises of rapid climate change, what is our government offering? It seems the answer is nuclear-powered submarines of unknown cost and unknown design, agreed to in secret and without a hint of consultation with the community or any of our international “friends”.

If ScoMo continues to twist the tail of the Chinese tiger while double crossing our French friends, what hope for us is there in a troubled world beset with a pandemic where strong and forthright international co-operation is most vital?

By pandering to Biden and Boris, our leader has made Australia the pariah of the Pacific. We only need to glance across the Tasman for an example of sane and sensible national leadership. These submarines are not necessary weapons, they are enormously expensive red herrings to divert our media attention away from the critical real issues at hand.
