ANTITHESIS OF LEADERSHIP
THE problem with this Australian government is that it lacks authenticity. From the time Morrison rolled Turnbull for the top job the Prime Minister would only say he was not the one who sought to change the leadership.
While he obviously thought that was good enough for us it also set the scene for what was to come. The Prime Minister has since applied the same shabby principle to ministerial standards involving ministers Taylor, Cash, Porter, Tudge and McKenzie.
It defies logic to conclude that there was absolutely “nothing to see here” in any of these matters. The Australian people are however asked to believe precisely that despite, in some cases, the findings of the Australian National Audit Office.
Well, now the French too are aware of the nature of this government. They’ve treated the French the same shabby way as they treat the Australian people. In this case they’ve actively deceived the French for months and on the international stage.
For this PM nothing gets in the way of a good marketing opportunity even if you mislead a country with whom we have had very good international relations with since 1842 and with whom we fought in both world wars.
This government has been in the business of building up anti-China sentiment for some time now and the French were just roadkill in setting up a nationalistic approach to their 2022 election strategy. I guess governments that lack authenticity do this sort of thing hoping that no one notices that it’s also the antithesis of leadership.
