Murder accused ‘not fit’ to face trial

-

A SOUTH Hobart man accused of murdering an acquaintance at a unit complex is unfit to stand trial, the Supreme Court of Tasmania has heard.

On Monday, Shaun James Scott appeared in court via video link after the alleged murder of Bradley Paul Wolf on November 11 or 12 last year.

The prosecution told Justice Gregory Geason “we’ve been told the accused is not fit to stand trial”.

Defence lawyer Rochelle Mainwaring said she was still awaiting a psychiatric report on her client.

The Mercury previously reported Mr Wolf was allegedly hit on the head with a metal object in a cul-de-sac off Huon Rd, South Hobart.

Police allege Mr Wolf had been staying for several days with Mr Scott, who he had known for some time and who was the regular occupant of the unit.
