HOPPING BACK INTO ACTION

-

A CELEBRATION of beer and bands will kick off at Hobart Brewing Company this month, with Hoptober set for its return after the event was cancelled last year.

The indie music and arts festival was unable to go ahead in 2020 due to Covid restrictions, but will run in a slightly scaled-down format on October 16.

“This year we’re collaborating with Shambles Brewery in North Hobart, Deep South Brewing Co and Fox Friday, who are based out of Moonah,” venue manager Nick Devereux said.

“We’re pairing that with a full-day line-up with local music.”

The event has run every year since 2015, except last year.

“It’s an event in our calendar we look forward to the most, as a bunch of hop heads,” Mr Devereux said.

“It’s ever so slightly smaller in terms of the people we can have on site.

“Instead of having 1000 people, it’s 500 or 600.

“It’s good to let our hair down after a hectic year.”
