Australian Open players to face compulsory vaccination

- SCOTT GULLAN

PLAYERS at the Australian Open this summer face the increasing possibility they will have to be vaccinated before they are allowed to play at the opening Grand Slam of the year.

The Victorian Government is almost certain to mandate that only fully vaccinated players can play in the Australian Grand Slam tournament.

The demand will challenge nine-time AO champion Novak Djokovic, who is a famous anit-vaxxer. Tennis Australia boss Craig Tiley faces his “worst nightmare” and one he had been fearing for months.
