SCHEME TOASTS LOCAL BREWS AND CHARITIES

-

TASMANIANS can now help their favourite local community groups, simply by raising a glass.

9/11 Bottleshops is championing local beverage suppliers in an initiative to support charities and organisations making a difference in Tasmania.

Launching Friday in all 21 stores across the state, A Good Drop encourages customers to buy local by rewarding them with a fundraising token to vote for one of three community groups when they buy a Tasmanian-made beer, wine, cider or spirit.

Lark Distilling’s Bill Lark welcomed the initiative, encouraging Tasmanians to choose local. “Any initiative that encourages people to choose local is always a great thing and it’s fantastic to see Tasmanian businesses supporting the local community,” Mr Lark said.

Dogs Homes of Tasmania behaviour trainer Michelle Jones said it was an honour to be chosen for the first round of A Good Drop.

9/11 Bottleshop retail operations manager Sharni Wise said A Good Drop was designed to celebrate the good work of Tasmanian beverage producers and charities. “Every three months we’ll share $5000 between the community groups based on the votes they receive statewide.”
