TIGERS UP FOR SHIELD

THE TASMANIA Tigers 2021-22 domestic season will finally get under way on Thursday when they take on reigning champions the Queensland Bulls in Adelaide in their first Sheffield Shield match of the summer.

The Tigers have named a squad of 13 to face the Bulls, with talented all-rounder

Beau Webster set to captain the side in the absence of Matthew Wade who is on World Cup duties.

Tim Paine, Jackson Bird, Jake Doran, and Riley Meredith were all unavailabl­e for selection due to injury.

Nathan Ellis is unavailabl­e due to Indian Premier League duties in the United Arab Emirates. If selected in the starting XI, Brad Hope will make his Tasmanian Tigers debut.

The match will take place at Adelaide’s Karen Rolton Oval, with the first ball set for 11am
