Blues name Hansen to assist Voss

-

THE addition of Ashley Hansen as a senior assistant to Carlton coach Michael Voss may not be the last change to the football department at the Blues for 2022.

Hansen, 38, will take over as forwards coach after spending nine seasons at the Western Bulldogs, a time that included taking the Bulldogs VFL side to premiership success in 2016, before he joined Luke Beveridge’s staff as an assistant. It comes after Aaron Hamill and Tim Clarke were also added to new coach Voss’ staff. Carlton head of football Brad Lloyd said the club could yet make more changes to boost the club’s football department.

“Over the last nine years Ashley has consistently demonstrated an ability to get the best out of people, build a successful environment, and given the stage he is at in his coaching career, he is the ideal person we were looking to appoint to our senior assistant,” Lloyd said.

“With the additions of Ashley, Aaron Hamill and Tim Clarke, we have built a quality team of assistants to support Michael, who complement his commitment to high performance and building an elite environment.

“We will continue making necessary adjustments to our football department throughout the off-season to ensure we continue to move forward in what has been a really exciting reset phase for the club as we set our sights on 2022.”
