RUCK IN SYDNEY’S SIGHTS

-

SYDNEY has emerged as the frontrunner for Port Adelaide ruckman Peter Ladhams.

Hawthorn was Ladhams’ other suitor, but the Hawks have withdrawn from the race after baulking at the Power’s wish for a first-round pick in return.

The Ladhams camp’s preferred option is for the Power big man to find a new home.

The 23-year-old, who played 17 of his 32 career matches this year, is yet to nominate a club, but sources believe he will pick the Swans.

Ladhams began to explore his options after he was told in his exit meeting that he is behind Scott Lycett as Port Adelaide’s No. 1 ruck option at the moment.

However, the Power has said that it would take something “significant” for it to trade Ladhams, with a view at Alberton that he still has the potential to be the No. 1 ruckman there.
