GIANT JOINS PORT’S TALLS

-

PORT Adelaide believes it can use new recruit Jeremy Finlayson as a back-up ruckman as well as bolstering its tall forward stocks.

The Power has completed a deal with GWS for the 25year-old key forward, giving up a future third-round pick for the Giant. He joins the Power on a three-year deal after the two clubs agreed on a deal on Wednesday.

Finlayson played 66 AFL games for the Giants and kicked 90 goals, including 44 in 2019, when the Giants made the grand final.

Finlayson adds to a forward line that includes talls Charlie Dixon, Todd Marshall and Peter Ladhams – although he could leave the Power this trade period.

Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps said at 196cm, the Power saw Finlayson as someone who could also be a valuable second ruck option for the Power.
