Petuna bid for hatchery

PETUNA Aquaculture plans to build a $12m hatchery at its Cressy site, with a development application for the project to be assessed by the Environment Protection Authority.

If successful, the addition would be Petuna’s third hatchery at the site. The hatchery is planned to use a recirculating aquaculture system.

“The $12m project will involve replacing reliance on the current hatchery flow through system with full RAS, which will allow for improved nutrient management,” a spokesperson for Petuna said.
