Dawson deal looms as final act

-

THE deal to get Jordan Dawson to Adelaide is expected to be decided in the last 24 hours of the trade period.

Both the Crows and Swans are anticipating that negotiations over Dawson’s move back to South Australia will go right down to the wire ahead of Wednesday night’s trade period conclusion.

Adelaide wants to use the future first-round pick it obtained from Melbourne to end the impasse with the Swans over Dawson.

The Crows remain in a strong position to land the gun wingman but may have to add a second part to the trade to sweeten it for the Swans.

The future pick traded from

Melbourne which forms the bedrock of the deal will be a selection in between 15-18 in next year’s if the Demons finish top-four again next year.

What looms as the clincher in this deal is whether the Crows are also prepared to part with their pick 33 in this year’s draft to sweeten things as part of a pick swap with the Swans..
