TOURE QUITS ADELAIDE
A-LEAGUE prodigy Al Hassan Toure has left Adelaide United in the hope of more first-team opportunities with Macarthur FC.
Best known for his manof-the-match performance in United’s 4-0 thrashing of Melbourne City in the 2019 FFA Cup final, Toure said his football could reach the “next level” after a couple of frustrating years in Adelaide.
Those frustrations seemed set to continue had the 21year-old striker stayed at the Carl Veart-coached Adelaide for another season.
“As we approach the new season, it was becoming clearer that Al Hassan wasn’t going to be part of our starting 11 week in, week out,” Veart said.
“We discussed our plans with him and ultimately agreed it was in Al Hassan’s best interest to seek a fresh start.
“We wish him the best.”
