LOCKDOWN RULES – Southern Tasmania

STAY AT HOME UNLESS YOU ARE:

Shopping for urgent household supplies within 5 km of home — only one person from a household at any one time.

Attending medical or health care appointmen­ts, including Covid-19 testing or vaccinatio­ns.

A permitted worker — a person working for a provider or business that is permitted to operate, and who cannot work from home.

Going to school — if the child of a permitted worker, or if unable to learn at home, or going to child care.

Exercising once per day outdoors within 5km of home for up to two hours — alone or with your household or with one other person for safety reasons.

Caring for a vulnerable person.

In other permitted circumstan­ces, such as in an emergency or to escape harm relating to family violence.

OTHER RULES:

Face masks must be worn outside the home by everyone aged 12 years and older except primary school students, or people who have a medical exemption.

No visitors to homes unless supporting a vulnerable person; visiting as part of a significan­t relationsh­ip; visiting as part of a visitor “bubble” with someone who lives alone and who is not in a significan­t relationsh­ip; receiving health, medical, emergency or other permitted care.

Travel: You must not enter or exit the lockdown area of southern Tasmania unless you have a permitted reason. G2G passes for travellers from high-risk areas who were arriving in southern Tasmania will be cancelled. People with approved G2G passes going to other areas of the state will still be able to travel. People with Tas e-Travel passes coming from low-risk areas can travel but must comply with lockdown restrictio­ns.

No weddings, unless for compassion­ate reasons and then only five people – the couple, two witnesses and a celebrant. No more than 10 guests at funerals, not including children under 12 months of age or staff conducting the funeral.

No visitors are permitted into aged care or hospital facilities, except for end-of-life reasons and other excepted reasons. Visits to hospital restricted.

Essential businesses will remain include: supermarke­ts, butchers, grocery stores, bakeries, fish mongers, bottle shops, takeaways, childcare post office, newsagenci­es, banks, pharmacies, service stations, mechanics, hardware stores.

Businesses closed include: beauty therapy, hairdressi­ng, tanning, waxing, manicure or other nail treatments, tattoos, ear and body piercing, body modificati­on, spas, saunas, bath houses and float spas, massage parlours, tourism activities and services, including cruises and tours, gyms and swimming pools, health clubs, fitness centres, wellness centres and the like; galleries, museums, concert venues, theatres, gaming or gambling premises.

Schools from kinder to grade 12 in southern Tasmania will be open on Monday, October 18, (during the lockdown) for children of permitted workers and those who are unable to learn at home. Masks for all children over 12. Exams for years 11 and 12 will take place.

Places of worship. Only live-streaming of ceremonies and religious gatherings is allowed with maximum three people present.
