RAPPER’S NAME CHANGE GETS A HELL YE! FROM JUDGE
LOS ANGELES: Kanye West has officially changed his name to “Ye”.
TMZ reports that West, whose full birth name was Kanye Omari West, won’t have a middle or surname he will simply be known as Ye.
A judge’s approval came two months after TMZ first reported that
West, now Ye, had filed legal documents in a Los Angeles court.
His name change is the latest move from the controversial rapper, who fuelled speculation he is reconciling with ex-wife Kim Kardashian West, though the divorce is still under way.
Last week, TMZ reported that
Kardashian West will receive the $81m Hidden Hills home where she and the couple’s four children live.
The gossip site reports the former couple negotiated a buyout price for the Axel Vervoordt-designed home that they rebuilt after purchasing it for $A27m in 2014.
Kardashian West filed for divorce in February, after six years of marriage.
Ye, who has been based in Wyoming for more than a year, has listed his estate there for $11m, TMZ reports. It came after he recently purchased a new home in Malibu, for a reported $A77m.
