Positive case on the Spirit of Tasmania

A SPIRIT of Tasmania contractor has tested positive to Covid-19 in Melbourne, but there are very few contacts and the news has not affected the sailing schedule.

The contractor, who was fully vaccinated and asymptomatic, worked on board Spirit of Tasmania II on Monday.

Five casual contacts were identified, who have returned negative tests.

A spokesman said TT-Line was advised of the positive test result on Wednesday morning and it had alerted the relevant health authorities.

The sailing schedule was unaffected by the case, with the Bass Strait ships sailing on Wednesday night as normal.
