BLAZE GUTS UNIT

A UNIT has been destroyed in a blaze at East Devonport on Wednesday.

Crews from Latrobe and Devonport were called to the Wright St address about 2pm and managed to extinguish the fire after a smoke alert was issued for the area.

Residents of the address were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. Wright St between Drew and Brooke streets was closed for some time as firefighters responded to the incident. Tasmania Fire Service will investigate the cause of the blaze.
