EDDIE Betts will play for the Palmerston Magpies when he turns out for his NTFL debut this season

The star AFL footballer was rumoured to be choosing between the Wanderers and the Magpies, but the latter club has announced it has scooped up the star.

Coach Josh Heath said the club was fortunate to have someone of Betts’ calibre mentoring and developing its juniors and as assistant coach of its senior group.

Betts arrived in Darwin on October 16 and is quarantine in Howard Springs. While he will play once he comes out, he will also be engaging remote communities.
