Council’s vote on emissions
THE Hobart City Council plans to look at how it can be more environmentally friendly, with Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds to move a motion to support the state government’s plan to legislate net-zero carbon emissions by 2030.
Ms Reynolds will move the council investigates how it can help meet the target and look at projects to reduce emissions.
“Greater Hobart is responsible for 47 per cent of Tasmania’s energy sector emissions and the Hobart LGA business and residential community is responsible for 13 per cent of Tasmania’s total energy emissions,” Ms Reynolds said.
