STAMP OF APPROVAL FOR RSPCA

- GRACE BALDWIN

NEW stamps will not be arriving prelicked, despite Pluto the cat’s best attempts.

To commemorate 150 years of the RSPCA’s contributions to animal welfare, Australia Post is issuing a series of special stamps that pay homage to the RSPCA’s mission and practice: research, shelter, protection, certification and advocacy.

Australia Post group manager Philatelic Michael Zsolt said the tireless work of the RSPCA in preventing animal cruelty deserved to be celebrated.

“The stamp designs really show the breadth of the RSPCA’s work across companion animals, farm animals, animals in sport, recreation and industry, and wildlife,” Mr Zsolt said.

RSPCA chief executive Richard Mussell said the stamps were “a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our great breadth of work and what has been achieved in an important milestone year for us”.

The stamps are available now from post offices or can be ordered online.
