DASHING COUPLE DRESSED TO THRILL

- JUDY AUGUSTINE

A SANDY Bay couple will don their best racewear outfits to compete against a field of fashionistas after taking out the Tasmanian leg of the Fashions on Your Front Lawn.

Myles Castley and partner Ellie Sheridan stunned the judges among a strong group of Tasmanian entries.

“The Tasmanian competition, there were so many amazing outfits,” Victoria Racing Club ambassador Crystal Kimber said.

“Ellie was a standout, very on trend and unique, especially the colour combination, so we were really impressed.”

The competition was held remotely, to give more people the chance to enter from the comfort of their homes during Covid.

“Normally the Fashions on the Field would be held in individual states,” Ms Kimber said.

“Last year and this year it became on your front lawn because people are limited in terms of travel.

“It’s given people a chance to enter that might not have had the chance to enter before.”

Ms Kimber said entrants were getting creative from their homes.

“(A lot) of people are limited to buying things online, so there was a bit of DIY,” she said.

“You’re finding a lot of unique outfits, it’s really taking fashion to the next level.”

The national winner will be announced on Oaks Day during the Melbourne Cup carnival. “Each state winner will be on the screen where it will be held virtually and it will be announced on Network Ten,” Ms Kimber said.
