I THINK I’ve worked out why parcels sent via Australia Post are taking so long to arrive.

They do a tour of the eastern states first.

A parcel posted to me from Queensland on September 27 with tracking has travelled from Southport, Queensland, to Dandenong, Victoria, back to Queensland, then back to Victoria, back to Queensland, then to Chullora, NSW. It arrived there on October 7. On October 13 an update advises that it’s in transit to the next facility in Mornington, Tasmania.

I urge anyone posting for Christmas to send now.
