Kowtowing to the pokies industry

IT’S shattering to see Labor walking in lock-step with the Liberals over the pokies legislation. After the excitement and relief of Rebecca White’s anti-pokies stance, Labor has now kowtowed to the pokies industry, and failed to agree to any harm minimisation legislation that has not been dictated by the industry.

Labor should be supporting harm minimisation measures suggested by the Greens, and independent House of Assembly and Legislative Council members. When will Labor develop the courage to be a real opposition, and give voice to the wishes of the community rather than the pokies industry?
