TRAFFIC HEADACHE

-

NOTHING highlights government intransigence in tackling simple solutions to peak-hour congestion on the Southern Outlet better than the breakdown of a large truck and dog trailer immediately before the Davey/Macquarie streets intersection last Wednesday in the middle of peak-hour traffic, causing the inevitable traffic chaos.

The government, through the woefully ineffective Minister Ferguson, has refused point-blank to consider quarantining heavy transport from the Outlet between 7am and 9am on weekdays, along with many other simple low-cost/nocost alternatives to knocking down family homes for a fifth lane, which will do nothing for chaos caused by heavy transport usage and breakdowns during the morning traffic peak.
