Pair boosts Sharks for ‘tough’ test

AFTER another five-goal haul in their monster 90-point win over New Norfolk last week, Sharks star forward Cambell Hooker said his side was full of confidence coming into the clash with the Eagles.

“We let ourselves down in a lot of key areas against Brighton the week before and so a couple of good weeks on the track really helped us and I thought we bounced back really well in the wet,” Hooker said.

“It was good to get a win in pretty tough conditions and we took a fair bit away from that game.”

The bustling full forward said his side would be bolstered with a pair of key midfield inclusions for the matchup with the Sharks, who he believed shared some similarities with his side.

“We’ve got two more pretty handy players coming back in with Isaac Mathewson and Dan Lewis who will come back after missing last week, so they’ll help top up our midfield.

“Both teams have some older players and some younger players and so they’ll come out pretty fiery I reckon. I’m expecting it to be a pretty tough game.”

Hooker will be hoping to continue his own dominant start to 2022 with the monster forward causing nightmares for opposition defenders in the early part of the season.

Hooker’s hulking size and strong set of hands combined with his deadly accuracy has been a huge weapon for the 4-1 Sharks.

Buoyed by a monster bag of 12 goals against Huonville in round three, Hooker sits seven goals clear at the top of the SFL leaderboard with 26 majors after five games to be the competition’s most dominant forward.
