SMART THINKING
As the number of tourists visiting Brisbane starts to soar, the city is responding with an incredible range of new hotels, hip restaurants & bars, and exciting entertainment options. It’s time you paid a visit.
The number of tourists visiting Brisbane is staring to soar – and the city is responding.
Queensland’s capital is enjoying a slew of exceptional new hotels and restaurants to service the growing number of tourists visiting the region. There’s been an 11 per cent year-on-year growth of visitors to Brisbane, and the city has responded with a new focus on tourism. This has included the construction of a new cruise terminal, exciting lifestyle precincts and Australia’s longest treetop canopy zip-line tour. The growth will continue, with a major project and infrastructure programme valued at more than $10 billion planned to boost the city’s tourism, retail and residential offerings by 2022. New hotel offerings in the past year alone are many and varied, and include The Calile Hotel, Westin, Ovolo, Art Series – The Fantauzzo (pictured), W Hotel, Novotel, The Sebel, FV by Peppers and Emporium Hotel South Bank. Also on the horizon, the Queens Wharf Development will bring another five premium hotel brands to Brisbane, as well as a casino; 50 new restaurants, cafés and bars; and a landmark Sky Tower.
