SEEKING HAPPINESS

A new report has found that – for the second year in a row – the world’s happiest country is Finland. The UN’s World Happiness Report recently ranked 156 different countries “by how happy their citizens perceive themselves to be, according to their evaluations of their own lives”.

Released by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, this year’s study focused on “happiness and the community”, considering factors like social media, technology, social norms, and government policies.

For those wanting to visit the Northern European happiness mecca, it’s hard to beat a visit in winter. Not only will visitors get to enjoy the pristine snowy vistas, but the otherworldly Northern Lights shine down on clear nights between September and March.
