IF AT FIRST YOU DON’T SUCCEED...

If you’re feeling discouraged because your novel keeps getting rejected or you can’t get a job in the field you want, try to keep the faith. These famous ‘failures’ did:

• Author Dr Seuss. His first book was rejected a total of 28 times. He went on to sell 600 million copies of his books in 20 different languages.

• Comedian Jim Carrey. He was a teenage janitor to support his family, then was booed off stage in his first stand-up performance.

• Inventor Thomas Edison. He apparently said: “I have not failed 10,000 times – I’ve successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work.”
