LETTER OF THE MONTH Julie

-

Thank you for a hopeful issue looking to the future (Jan/Feb). I haven’t finished reading all of it yet but my hope for the future is that people become less rushed. As our technology has advanced and changed, we have come to expect everything instantly. People get very irritated when things or other people are slower than expected.

This reaction shows up in everyday life and in how people become dangerous drivers, grumpy in supermarket lines, and rude online. I hope as people rethink what is important to them they realise the worth of not rushing and spending more time with loved ones. I am reminded of this when my grandson says, “Play with me, Nanny” as I’m about to do a job. I stop and think “The washing can wait, making happy memories with loved ones is much more important”.
