In 2016 David Stewart, creator of The Balvenie unique range of single malts, was awarded an MBE by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the Scotch whisky industry. Produced by William Grant & Sons, The Balvenie is the only distillery that still grows its own barley, uses traditional floor maltings and keeps both coppersmiths and coppers onsite. For those who love their whisky, The Balvenie is partnering with Sydney’s Ramblin Rascal Tavern to bring to life its penchant for creating intimate luxury experiences celebrated through unique stories and exceptional whisky with the ‘The Five Star Dive Bar’, complete with a new whisky menu. The Balvenie Brand Ambassador, Ross Blainey says of the partnership, “Following months of solitude, we’re now craving experiences that feel special, and worthy of venturing out of our homes. We want to rediscover that sense of humanity within the chaos.” New drinks on the menu include The Baller Maker: Perrier-Jouët paired with a dram of The Balvenie 12-Year-Old Sweet Toast of American Oak (neat or on ice).
