Name: Darren Lane Cars: 1973 saloon Location: Isle of Wight
Originally an 850, Darren bought this Mini in August 2014. It had been stored since 1988 because of an engine fire. Although rust free, the A-panels and scuttle were replaced, and it was professionally resprayed in Tweed Grey. Darren then got hold of a 1300 GT engine, which he had rebuilt and rebored by Dutchspeed racing to 1380cc. This engine is fitted with some tasty kit, including Powermax pistons, a Kent 276 camshaft, ARP bolts, 1.5 roller rockers and twin HS6 carburettors. The whole project took three-years to complete and it looks stunning.
Looking fabulous in Tweed Grey.
