Name: Terry Barton Car: 1989 Saloon Location: Suffolk
After doing a panel beating apprenticeship at a Rover dealership from 1990 to 1999 and owning several Minis, Terry Barton thought it was time to get another. This 1990 saloon came up locally looking very sorry for itself, but was solid, with just 58,000 miles on the clock. Three-years later, in-between restoring other cars, it’s finally finished! The restoration involved a full strip-down to bare metal, MkI front and rear end, lots of other subtle custom touches like the frenched front plate, plus a full respray in Lamborghini Pearl Grey with one-off black gold painted pearl roof and arches, all powered by a 1275cc engine with Stage 1 conversion. Inside, Terry’s fitted a full ’cage and full ’70s-style re-trim. He’s even had time to make a matching model and key. We think it’s stunning, well done Terry.
