THOUGHT ECONOMICS

- By Vikas Shah JULIA NEWBOULD

Hardie Grant Books, RRP $29.99

Entrepreneur and philanthropist Vikas Shah set out on a mission to interview the people he saw as shaping the world’s economy. Among them are linguist and philosopher Noam Chomsky, writer Maya Angelou, philanthropist Melinda Gates, artist Ai Weiwei, Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg, Virgin’s Richard Branson, former South African president FW de Klerk, singer Rita Ora, economist Daniel Kahneman and chef Heston Blumenthal.

Shah started writing a blog to fix what he saw as the lack of long-form content as newspapers, magazines and journals were replaced by video, podcasts and social media.
