Australian Working Dog Rescue International

- SHARYN McCOWEN

What is it?

Australian Working Dog Rescue International (AWDRI) is a non-profit charity that saves cattle dogs, kelpies, border collies and other working dog breeds from being euthanised in council pounds and shelters. In 14 years, more than 10,000 dogs have been rehomed by the group, many of which were given up by owners unprepared for the physical and mental demands of a working dog.

Where your money goes:

The AWDRI team drives thousands of kilometres a year to rescue dogs from across Australia, place them in foster homes and find suitable forever homes. Your donation helps cover veterinary care, food, transport costs and other expenses.

How to donate:

Visit awdrishop. com.au/product/ donate-now to make a one-off or regular donation. AWDRI is a registered charity and donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. You can also buy its annual calendar, which features photos of rescued working dogs.
