On our radar: three gadgets that make life easier

-

Video like a pro

Upgrading your performance on video just got easier. Snap on your iPhone and the tracking stand will follow your face and body movements during livestreaming, video recording or video conferencing. It can turn 360 degrees and tilt 90 degrees as you record or stream video and can keep going for five hours straight if you want it to. The internal battery can be recharged between uses or plug it in with the 1.5m USB-C to USB-C cable. The Belkin Auto-Tracking Stand Pro with DockKit works with FaceTime and other video conferencing apps and operates smoothly and quietly. If you don't want it to track your movement anymore, you can turn that feature off with the push of a button on the device (no app required).

Cost: $299.95. belkin.com/au.

Charging on the go

Life is filled with painpoints, and batteries dying at inopportune moments is one of them. Paleblue has come up with a solution that makes it easy to recharge batteries and does the planet a favour in the process (more than 95% of batteries currently end up in landfill, leaking contaminants into the environment). Each lithium-ion battery has a USB-C port and LED charging indicator that flashes green until fully charged. The batteries can be recharged more than 1000 times, last far longer than alkaline batteries, and won't leak battery acid into your electronics. It takes under an hour to fully charge a set of four batteries (whether AAA, AA, C, D or 9V). Paleblue is a member of 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses and environmental organisations working together for the good of the planet. Cost: From $49.95. paleblueearth.com.au.

Streaming made easy

The explosion of streaming platforms may be giving us plenty of choice when it comes to finding something to watch, but keeping track of subscriptions, what show we were watching on which platform, and what we might want to watch next can be a bit messy. Hubbl is a small device that plugs into your TV to streamline the watching of movies, shows, sport and live channels. It comes with a universal remote with voice control that allows you to search for your next show, control playback and change settings. Hubbl integrates 18 global and local apps, making streaming, searching between apps, watching and managing subscriptions a whole lot easier.

Cost: From $99. hubbl.com.au.
