The Friends of Mount Colah group and Mt Colah Pharmacy and Post Office would like to say a Big Thank you to everyone who supported the Morning Tea on 22nd September 2018.
It was a great day! Lots of happy and smiling people. It was an enjoyable way for neighbours to mingle and to make new friends. Many would agree that the morning tea fulfilled our mission statement of “Bringing the Mt Colah Community together.”
In between mouthfuls of delicious cakes, tasty sausages with home-made sauerkraut, the kids were eagerly colouring in their competition entries. When the top 10 winners were announced there were many happy faces to proudly collect their prizes.
Many of these amazing prizes were donated by Mt Colah locals and local businesses such as Mt Colah Pizzeria, Galley Foods Eatery, Four Seasons Plant Bug Garden Centre, Thairapy Design Studio, Bite Me Bakehoue, Comfort Discovered, Khumo Tyres, Paul’s Lighting, Roaming Chooks, The Neighbourhood Watch, The Bush Telegraph Weekly, Small Biz and The Monthly Chronicle. Thank you to these small businesses and local organisations for their generosity and being an integral part of communities such as Mt Colah. We are also very grateful to all the volunteers who helped on the day as they made the day possible. Community spirit was in the air!
One highlight of the day was the launch of the FOMC Community Noticeboard. This notice board which is located at the Mt Colah shops - is to be used to help promote community events and initiatives. If anyone would like to promote a local community group, event or initiative please visit the friendly staff in the Mt Colah Post Office with your A4- sized poster and they will help you out.
On a very positive note - together we raised funds which will go towards future FOMC events and initiatives. Our next initiative is the FOMC Street Library – which is a community idea to help spread the joy of reading. We have collaborated with Studio Artes (www.studioartes.org.au) as they have generously offered to paint the street library for us. Once it is painted and ready to go, we will organise a date for the FOMC Street Library to be launched and everyone will be invited!
