Monthly Chronicle - - Outdoor Lifestyle -

Just two days before the 100th anniversary of the WWI Armistice, Thornleigh West Public School held a commemorative assembly to honour the centenary of Remembrance Day.

The school’s principal, Chantal Mamo, said the assembly was a touching tribute to past and present soldiers and gave us the opportunity to support Australian veterans and their families in need by raising money for the Poppy Appeal.

“Thornleigh Public School is proud to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice that ended the First World War,” Ms Mamo said.

Damien Thomlinson, a war veteran and invictus games competitor, talked to the students about the importance of serving Australia and honouring its veterans.
