Crankbrothers’ Stamps come in two sizes and several models, topping out with the titanium-axled Stamp 11s at an eye-watering £269.99. We tested the mid-range Stamp 3s in the ‘large’ size, which is recommended for riders with UK9 feet and bigger. The oversized forged-aluminium body gives loads of foot support, but because the outer edge sits 123mm from the crank arm, we found the pedals prone to getting caught in ruts. This isn’t an issue with the smaller size, but they’re a little too diminutive for our tastes. It’s a shame to see no concavity on a pedal at this price – you have to spend £40 more on the Stamp 7s to get that. The pins are short when screwed in fully, but can be wound out for better grip (if you do this, make sure to apply some threadlock to stop them falling out). www.extrauk.co.uk
