1 E-bike diet

With a new direct motor mount and magnesium motor body, the latest frame is 800g lighter. In fact, the 2019 alloy frame weighs less than last year’s S-Works carbon chassis.

2 Wagon wheels

The 2019 bike rolls on 29in wheels with 2.6in tyres. Specialized say these give the rider more feel through the bar than the bigger 650b+ tyres specced on last year’s bike, for a better connection to the trail and more conventional feel, while still offering the support needed.

3 Sidearm strut

Specialized’s ‘Sidearm’ design not only improves frame stiffness but also conceals the bike’s internally-routed cables. Because these no longer run inside the down tube, Specialized have been able to make it smaller.
