Deity TMAC $168.99/£TBC

-

Boasting a massive platform with 2.5mm of concavity, freerider Tyler McCaul’s signature pedals feel supportive and confidence-inspiring underfoot. A whopping 14 pins stud each side and they’re concentrated around the outside edges, accentuating the grip. Spares are included, but changing the pins may require mole grips, because they thread in from the top, making the heads vulnerable to damage. With such a big footprint and no chamfering, you have to be mindful of catching the TMACs on rocks and ruts. We’ve done some serious descending on these pedals and, so far, no play has developed from the DU bushing and three bearings, which are protected by rubber seals and dual end caps. That’s just as well, because the Deity pedals certainly aren’t cheap. www.deitycomponents.com
