The Lake District has provided classic MTB rides from the year dot, and this route, on the southern edge of the Old Man of Coniston, is no exception. Being further west and o ering very technical riding in places, this area is generally a bit quieter than other parts of the National Park.

GETTING THERE

This particular Seathwaite is in the Dunnerdale Fells, to the west of the Old Man of Coniston. From Ambleside, take the A593 west, then go right (‘Wrynose, Elterwater, The Langdales’) on minor roads, towards Hardnott Pass. Turn o left just before the pass and follow the River Duddon south to Seathwaite.
